Are you allergic to the products you put on your skin?
February 23, 2009
I know we should all use organic products as the possibility of having an allergic reaction are pretty slim but we all love to indulge in the non-organic products.
I have VERY sensitive skin on my face and once before had an allergic reaction to a foundation i bought (very inconsiderate as i had a night out planned that i had been looking forward to for weeks, typical!) and not only did it leave me looking like i had severely burnt my face it really, really hurt! So obviously my night was cancelled and i spent the evening with my face wrapped up in a cold towel feeling sorry for myself.
After doing my research i was surprised to find out that many people like me suffer from allergic reactions associated with beauty products.
If you have a reaction there are different ways you skin will react, you will most likely notice that your skin will change colour and turn into a rash and you will have the urge to itch. Worse is if you have a full-blown allergic reaction as there is a chance of scaring.
Products that you are at high risk of allergy to are:
Mascaras
Hair dye
Eye make-up removal cream
Sun lotions
Hair removal creams
Obviously since my disaster i am more wary about a product before i smoother my skin. I highly recommend that everyone should take an allergy test. Allergy testing is safe and easy and when you buy a new product that you haven’t used before you can check the ingredients make sure you are not allergic and have peace of mind that you will not set off an attack.
You can experience it anytime, so keep that point in mind!
