A girl from New Zealand has been receiving tons of messages of support after she had her beauty pageant crown revoked for dying her hair.

Olivia O’Neil is only 15 years old, but that didn’t stop pageant organisers from putting a dent in her confidence after she posted a picture on Facebook showing that she had gone from blonde to brunette since her victory.

Former organiser of the Miss Wanganui pageant even suggested that Olivia wouldn’t get far in life because of the change.

Olivia’s story spread and it has resulted in loads of messages in favour of new look and even more condemning the pageant organisers for their closed-mindedness.

John Frieda’s shampoo and conditioner

I am a huge fan of John Frieda’s products but not on a daily basis!!!

For a week solid I have been shampooing and conditioning my hair every night with John Frieda’s brilliant brunette and OMG my hair is ruined! I usually have soft, frizz-free hair after I have straightened and added my hair products but not now, it is now a huge afro that is bushy and frizzy and I know it is because I have used John Frieda every night on the run because this has never happened and the only thing I am doing different is using John Frieda every day.

I am not slating John Frieda shampoo and conditioner as if you use it at weekends only you will look glam and have the best locks on the dance floor but for everyday shampoo and conditioner it is utter garbage.

For your everyday shampoo and conditioner you should stick to Herbel Essence or Dove, one that really foams your hair up and gives it a good intense clean!

Herbal Essence

I love picking up freebie samples so when I got given a sample of the new Herbal Essence shampoo I had to try it out it would be rude not to!

The sample i was given was the blue Herbal Essence shampoo and wow it smells good! I am sold to the product before I have even put it on my hair! I always thought the Herbal Essence advert was a bit OTT but I see exactly what they are getting at now!

Less of the smell after all you do buy a shampoo to make your hair clean. I used the whole sachet and when you massage into your hair it foams up and wow the smell gets better but it makes your hair feel amazingly clean. When you wash out your hair is squeaky clean and feels soft as silk when dry.

Now I am pretty peed that I didn’t get a sample of the conditioner to try them both out together so the sucker I am I have to try it so I am off out to buy one. I am sure it will be just as scrumptious as the shampoo. The shampoo has left my hair in immaculate condition so I am pretty intrigued how the after look will be when I also use the conditioner.

It is not one of the cheaper shampoos around at £2.50 for a shampoo and the same for a conditioner but it is a definite £2.50 well spent to experience Herbal Essence.

Clip-In Fringe Extensions

My hair can be very annoying at times and when it comes to growing a fringe I lose my patience. I have only tried growing a fridge once and when I had it cut I really did not like it and then had to wait 12 months for the bloody thing to grow out…I have been traumatised from the experience and will NEVER cut a fringe in again.

So I was very happy when I come across clip in fringe extensions! How cool do these sound all you do is clip them in and when you want your old look back clip them out again. The ones I am going for are from Balmain Pret A Porter Clip-In Fringe Extensions that have a soft blend edge to ensure an unnoticeable attachment and you can use your straightners on them too, perfect!

Eventually I will be able to have a dramatic new look without chopping my locks!

Make your salon blow-dry last days…

I love going to the salon and getting my hair cut and styled, i hate having to wash it out!!!

You can never quite achieve the salon blow-dry look on your own so see below for a few tips to make your blow-dry last for days:

Use dry shampoo on the third or fourth day

Don’t keep touching your hair! If you touch your hair frequently it will get greasy fast so keep your mits to yourself and don’t play!

When you have a shower or bath put your hair in a shower cap. If you don’t put your hair in a shower cap it is going to go frizzy.

The front of your hair is always the first place that gets greasy, so on day 3 spritz with water and blow dry just that section.

WTF is this hair do all about???

How I laughed when I seen this picture of Z-Lister Sally Farmiloe, all I know about this woman is that she is an actress and had an affair with Jeffrey Archer, a definite ZZZ-Lister in my eyes!

Her hair is well, amazing and draw dropping, but NOT in a good way! Talk about leaving the house looking like a drag queen. She gives Jodie Harsh a run for her/his money with this bouffant and don’t get me started on the make-up!

I cant belive she actually turned up to the Bafta’s looking like this. Imagine rubbing shoulders with likes of Angeline Jolie with a birds nest on your hair.

I wonder is something is living in there!

Anyway ladies, never ever copy this style and keep your eye on your mum you cant have her leaving the house like this!

It’s all about Lady GaGa

If you haven’t heard of Lady GaGa you really are missing out! Every magazine I read, every music station I listen to is all playing Just Dance or writing about Lady GaGa and her wacky and slightly bonkers hair styles to her very little clothing that involves of PVC cat suits, bra tops and leotards.

I must say I am loving the Minnie-mouse inspired hair! I think it looks wicked so after spending a couple of hours playing with my hair I have now mastered the bow.

I don’t think I will be wearing my hair like this to nip to Tesco to do my shopping but I would definitely hit a club with it in.

Follow my step by step guide to create the look:

Firstly scrape your hair into a ponytail on top of your head and tie with a thin bobble

Fold the pony tail in half and tie in the middle with an elastic band and pull your hair either side of the bow and blast with dry shampoo, if you want to be super cool put a clip into the centre where the elastic band is.

And voila – you have a bow! How easy!

Blonde or Brunette???

Some people look stunning as a blonde or as a brunette. Take Lindsay Lohan for instance that girl must have had every hair colour possible, black, brown, blonde, red, and many more and the lucky girl seems to get it right every time and pull off the look to perfection.

I was pretty surprised to look over the recent pictures from the premier of “He’s Just Not That Into You” and Scarlett Johansson sporting a new brown hair style, yikes, I am just not into that hair colour, what is she or her hair stylist thinking? She looks stunning and flawless as always but I still think that she is a definite blonde hair only girl.

Hopefully Scarlett will go back to her signature blonde bombshell look soon!
