Repair your hair…

January 2, 2009

Now Christmas is over I am sure many people must have had a dabble with the hair dye ready for a new start, new look you!

I have nothing against hair dye but it does cause havoc with your hair and can leave it looking dull and lifeless. So thanks to Jo Hansford who has released a new seven-strong line of high-end hair products aimed for caring and repairing coloured hair.

If you want to add a super shine to your hair and show off your new colour you really do have to use these products. There is a selection of shampoos, conditioners and masques.

Not only do these products work they smell delightful. They are all scented with the fragrance of real grapefruit.

Give your hair the x-factor

December 3, 2008

There is something about Diana Vickers off the X-Factor and that birds nest hair. Its quirky and i love it! I think its a love or hate thing though, just like her singing and those uncontrollable hands.

She has got great individual style going on with her hippy dress sense and bedhead hair and it is the most easiest style to copy.

Follow these simple steps to create the look:

Don’t wash your hair with normal shampoo use dry shampoo
When you hair finished shampooing your hair use a comb to brush through your hair
Tip your head forward and blow dry your hair upside down
Start back combing your hair whilst spraying with hairspray. The tip is to back comb, back comb and more back comb!
Give your hair a quick scrunch and da daaa a Diana do has been created!

You will look bang on trend if you go out with your hair like this and it works from day to night!

Avoid messy hat hair

November 22, 2008

Winter is officially here and I have digged out my hat, scarf and gloves. So I was pretty peed off when I left my house in a hurry and stuck my hat on and had the craziest hair when I took my hat on – imagine how you would look if you stuck your finger in a plug socket, yep, that’s how my hair looked!

So girlies panic over for the next time you wear your hat if you follow these simple steps:

Buy some static guard and give your hat a quick spray – genius, voila, no more hat hair!

If your hair is already wet either get to a dryer to dry your hair before you put your hat on or deal with it and keep your hair wet. Your hair is going to turn extremely knotty if you put a hat on whilst your hair is wet and you will have spend ages brushing tangles out of your locks.

When drying your hair only add the styling products to the bottom of your hair and not your roots. If you add the products to your roots when you remove your hat you will have greasy, flat hair…not a pretty look.

If you have got frizzy hair that has gone a little wild in the rain and you don’t have your hat to hand always carry frizzies hair products in your hand bag. This product works wonders and will calm down your frizz and leave you with cute curls.

When you remove your hat, shake your hair and gently run your fingers through to rejuvenate it

Control your frizz

November 3, 2008

I am one of those unfortunate girls that suffer’s from ‘crazy’ hair syndrome. In the morning I have serious bed hair and look like I have been dragged through a hedge back and forth about 10 times. I don’t know how this manages to happen as I didn’t think I was that restless in my sleep.

The good thing is that when it comes to my hair I do have patience and will be happy to sit for a good hour every morning with my straightners or curling tongs out! I do have some days though when I really cant be arsed, usually a Sunday when I am nursing a sore head and hangover! That’s why I was one happy girl when I used Kérastase Nutritive Oléo-Curl and it worked to perfection!

It is by far the best product I have used on my hair when I am in a hurry to leave the house and don’t want to go out giving tell tale signs of a heavy night and that I only woke up 5 mins ago as it makes you look like you have spent time on your hair.

All you need to do is wash your hair, towel dry it and massage the cream into your hair. Leave in for 5 minutes and rinse out and you are left with a beautiful curly hair do with no frizz!

Absolute godsend, definite 10 out of 10!!!

Katie Price launches haircare range

October 31, 2008

Surprise, surprise Katie Price aka Jordan has once again come up with a new business plan and this time ladies it is curling tongs and hair straightners.

Jordan says:

These products are a little edgier - with vibrant pink wording on the products themselves. They are aimed at a slightly older age group, helping them prepare for a night out and achieve the style they want. There are other products to collect from the range as your style changes. The products can also be used as gift ideas and will make great Christmas stocking fillers for the ladies!

I must say this is by far the strangest look I have ever seen on a pink-clad Jordan! To demonstrate the new hair care range she wore two different outfits at the same time with two different hair styles?!? Shocking!!! I can kind of see the gist of it one side is to demonstrate the curling tongs and the other side poker straight to demonstrate the hair straightners.

I think the curls look cute so they are obviously pretty good. The range is all very Jordan, pink, pink and more pink! Personally I will not buy her products for myself as I am to dedicated to GHD’s and Corioliss but I will be getting some for my cousin for Christmas.

This is not meant to be the last of it, apparently there is going to be shampoo, conditioners and hair care products. Does anyone think Jordan is going to take over the world soon???

Jordan has a huge fan base and a lot of people will buy anything she brings out. So I am sure it is going to be top seller!

You can purchase yours now at Superdrug stores nationwide.

Miss Moss once again leading the fashion pack

October 29, 2008

Celeb’s seem to be fighting for who can get the latest new hair cut and set off a new trend, with Victoria Beckhams pixie cut to Agyness Deyns sleek peroxide bob. But they should all give up now thanks to Kate Moss who has definitely set the trend off and is guaranteed to be copied by millions with a super-messy, bob cut and changed the colour to a golden, honey blonde.

I LOVE this colour it is more glam than peroxide and funkier than a brunette. It has a really laid back sexy look about it.

James Brown has reportedly stated that Kate’s created and cut the new do herself. Where do this girls talents stop, supermodel, designer, perfumer and now a bloody good hairdresser. If you are going to copy of the look ask for a choppy cut with messy ends and a golden blonde hair dye.

With the new gothic trend that is going to be huge it balances it out more with this hair cut and lighter hair.

What do you think of Kate’s new look?

Will you be giving your hair the Chop???

September 19, 2008

Victoria Beckham arrived at the Marc Jacobs show Monday night sporting a super-short new hair cut. Everyone seems to love it! What do you think of her hair? I think it’s a stunning cut it reminds me of Halle Berry Bond Girl Look mixed with a dash of Audrey Hepburn.

The hair cut not only fits her tone, but also the shape of her face and body. Victoria Beckham has always been a trend setter when it comes to new hair styles so i am sure this hair style will be copied by millions as many people take delight in keeping up with Victoria Beckham and her new hair styles. It has already become the must-have for Autumn 08. It will be a difficult one to pull off as not many women suit short, crop styles.

If you are ready to go for the chop now you need to keep the hair very short and choppy and make sure that the edges are textured and soft. To add extra glam always make sure that your hair has a fantastic shine!

So will you be dashing to the hair salon and asking the hairdresser to get busy with the scissors to achieve the pixie crop???

The Braided Headband

September 18, 2008

One trend that keeps popping up on numerous celebs is the braided-headband. I absolutely love this look; it is fuss-free and ultra cool.

It can be sported at work or in a nightclub it adds instant glamour to any event!

It is not easy to create this look but practice makes perfect!

To start – make a low braid that’s slightly off-center from the nape. Then make a strong, tight braid and secure with a clear elastic band. Wrap the braid up over the head like a headband and secure with  pins.

My favourite style so far has to be LC’s from The Hills with her braid just above the crown of her head.

In a hurry and do not have time to wash your hair???

August 5, 2008

Look no further all you need is Bastiste Dry Shampoo! This stuff is fantastic for all you busy bees. You simply spray all over your hair (this will leave you looking like you have been rolling your head around in dust all day), massage in your hair and leave for a few minutes then brush out. It will leave you hair feeling soft, clean and smelling fresh.

I hate, hate, hate greasy hair. People always say that if you don’t wash your hair everyday it would stop getting greasy so quickly, it’s a vicious circle, apparently. That is why Basiste dry shampoo is the perfect solution.

I would not recommend using this product every day but it is perfect for emergencies though.

You can by Batiste products at most Boots store for only £2.09

Be ultra chic like Agyness Deyn

August 4, 2008

One of the most copied hair styles has to go to Agyness Deyn . Hairdressers are now in demand for “The Aggy” with some claiming the look is this decade’s answer to “The Rachel”. Recently the 25 year old supermodel has sparked a trend in celebs copying the look, Pixie Geldof and Kimberley Stewart have been sporting the ultra cool chop.

The Aggy hair exemplifies my short-hair ideals: cute, relaxed, cool and ruffleable and funky.

To create ‘ The Aggy’ you have to use products that give texture and movement to avoid that over-styled look. A product that i would highly recommend is Jonathan Product Dirt, it is a texturising paste that will give your hair a “lived-in” feel without making your hair greasy. If you are looking for full on attitude you should try Bed Head Cocky it is by far the best hair product out there to give hair movement. To complete the look using a heat retaining brush gradually brushing the hair to the side whilst drying to give maximum shine and take out the texture.
