Colour to be seen on your nails…grey!

February 1, 2009

The hottest trend at the moment is grey nail varnish! It has been modeled on the ever so fashionable Lauren Conrad and Victoria Beckham and looks amazing.

Personally I was pretty afraid of putting grey nail varnish on as I used to wear it at the school all the time and it looked pretty horrific but wanting to go along with the trend I have invested in some Barry M Nail Polish in Rich Grey at only £2.89 it works wonders and doesn’t break your bank balance. I have had it on for a couple of days now and still don’t have a chip in site.

So to look sexy and on-trend head to your nearest boots and paint your nails grey for a trend that will take you through winter!

How to prevent your nails from turning yellow

January 15, 2009

I am a sunbed lover and an acrylic nail lover so it is a pain in the backside that by going on the sunbed it turns my immaculate clear nails a disgusting yellow colour.

I have spoke to the girls at the nail salon and she said that this is a common case with acrylic nails when they get near UV light exposure as they dry up your nails turning them into a yellow or brown colour.

So i have been using Yellow Out nail polish and it works wonders.  Before i was using Yellow Out i was having to have my nails done every w eek but now they can go for over 2 weeks as it keeps them looking natural with not a yellow tint in sight. All you need to do is add a coat on your nails and job is done. I tend to add a cote every 3 days to keep them looking good.

If you don’t want to use Yellow Out other options are adding small stickers to each nail before you go on a sunbed or curl your fingers and hold your nails into your hand.

Pretty Feet

August 20, 2008

You might be a lucky one off on holiday soon but if like myself you are still sat in “sunny” England it is still no excuse for not getting your feet out this summer.

Doesn’t matter if you are strutting your stuff on a beach or have your feet hidden in Ugg boots cracked heels, split nails and chipped nail varnish is not acceptable!

Follow these simple steps to have beautiful feet:

Firstly, remove any nail varnish you are wearing

Soak your feet in warm water to soften your skin and nails

Remove any hard skin using a foot buffer and foot file concentrating on your heels.

Dry your feet thoroughly and moisturise with plenty of foot cream

Cuticle cream works wonders on your toes. Gently apply the cream on your nails and push back cuticles in tiny circular movements around the nail plate

Tidy up your nails using nail clippers, rounding the corners help to prevent in-growing toenails

Paint your nails in whatever colour takes your fancy

To end your foot pamper give your feet a good hydrating rub!

Your feet should now feel soft and gorgeous!!!

Pretty Nails!

July 9, 2008

I’ve found a really great new nail polish. Check out the website www.essentialnails.com for the Cetuem Créme nail polish range. It applies well to your nails and goes on really smoothly with no streaking. Usually I mess my nail polish up the minute i’ve applied it but this dried quickly and didn’t chip straight away like some others i’ve tried before. There is a great range of colours and it even lasted on my toes! The price is pretty mid range at around £6 per bottle.

The website is great too, with a large range of nail polish, including metallic, hologram, shimmer, glitter effect and there are some great accessories too like the anti-spill nail polish holder.
