Make the most out of the look you have…

August 18, 2008

Don’t shy away from a mirror

If you have a low self esteem you will probably hate the thought of looking in a mirror and avoid it like the plague. However, mirrors can become a big alley. Even if to start off with you only spend a couple of minutes a day looking at yourself and visualize any changes that you would like to change that would make you feel good about yourself, anything from fresher, younger looking skin, healthier hair or a brighter smile. These changes are realistic and attainable and in my blog there are lots of tips to help you achieve you goal.

Pamper yourself like you are in a salon

You always feel fantastic when you have spent a day in the salon so why not pamper yourself like you are in a salon in your own home? Its simple really! You must of noticed how your hair gets washed in the hairdressers and feels squeaky clean after, so do it yourself. Always pour the shampoo and conditioner onto you hands, do not pour directly onto your hair, and give your head a good massage for a couple of minutes. Your hair will feel soft and clean and by massaging your head you will feel relaxed.

Stand out in the crowd

It is not all about looking pretty. Look amazing and show everyone around you that you take pride in yourself. Make the most of what you have. Feel good, feel pretty and that’s just what everyone else will see around you. You’ll learn to love yourself and that will make you dazzle and more confident person.

Do what makes you happy

Do one thing for yourself everyday. Even if you can only squeeze one thing into your day make sure you do it! It can be anything from painting your nails or a long soak in a bath. Try to take A break at least twice a day to recheck your make-up, hair, posture and clothing. Always works a treat for me!

And last but not least smile! Smiling = beauty in my eyes!

Roll back the years with Botox

August 13, 2008

As we grow older are main panic seems to be lines and wrinkles. It doesn’t matter who you are they will affect you one day even those catwalk beauties.

There is many reasons we will get wrinkles and lines mainly caused by everyday movements and facial expressions including smiling, laughing or frowning . Sun damage and smoking plays a big part in this too!

Not everyone will agree with me on this one but i am a big believer in curing the signs of ageing with Botox.
One small injection will minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles, giving you a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Botox is a simple procedure that is injected into these muscles and works by precisely weakening these small facial muscles, resulting in unwrinkled skin. There is no anaesthetic involved with Botox and can be over and done with in 10 minutes and as it is not surgery there is no chance of scarring.

If you were to have Botox i would only recommend going to a “well named” company such as Transform or Harley Medical.

Healthy Diet

July 25, 2008

Everyone knows to stay healthy and have healthy skin, nails, teeth, hair etc you need your 5 potions of fruit and veg a day and your meat and dairy, the ‘well balanced diet’ etc, but here are a few more unusual ones you could try!

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is meant to contain enzymes that help get rid of dead skin cells, which will help the look of your skin, and helps the digestion of food. Supposedly it helps break down fat and has healing qualities but I think this is probably a fallacy!! How you’d get this into your diet on a regular basis poses a bit of a puzzle though!!

Carrots

Ever bought a skin product because it contains Retin A? It is meant to prevent premature ageing of the skin. Well carrots give the same effect.

Citrus Fruits

Produces collagen inside the body which helps your skin cells hold together. People try to add collagen to their skin but I don’t think it works as well as eating fruit and drinking juice.

Garlic

Another one to help with your wrinkles. Pretty much makes your breathe smell though, but that’s the cross you have to bare where beauty is concerned.

Wheat Germ

This is a good one if you are plagued with spots. Add a couple of spoonfuls into your breakfast in the morning. Sorted!

July 16, 2008

I am always searching for the best products on the market to keep me looking youthful and have found an amazing product that offers immediate results. I was introduced to Arbonne by a friend of mine, I met her for lunch the other day and she looked fantastic, I even believed that she had botox so I surprised when she informed me that it was all down to Arbonne Reactivating Facial Serum Day & Night. Obviously that night I went straight home to order this pot of magic for myself and when it arrived it was love at first try!

I couldn’t believe how soft my face felt in the morning after my first application. This was too good to be true! Most beauty products make your skin feel great but when you wake up in the morning there is not a noticeable difference. With this you will feel the difference in your skin instantly and the results just get better and better.

I absolutely love this product and can’t believe I haven’t invested in it sooner. For those of you who do not know much about this product, it has been designed to release dead skin cells to review new skin giving you that all over fresh glow, and trust me it does exactly what it says so if you are looking for a cream that delivers dramatic, instant results visit www.arbonneinternational.co.uk.

Protection from the Sun!

July 8, 2008

Protecting your skin from the sun doesn’t often register high on your list of things to do in the summer when you live in Britain (it’s raining as I write this) but Lancôme’s new Sôleil DNA Guard Suncare is new for 2008 and won Grazia’s Best Ever Sun Protection for Body award.

From very high protection for mature skin, to incredible shine and velvety skin anti wrinkle products, you make up just about any sun care package to suit your needs. So this year before you go on your holls instead of buying boots own brand like you do every time or making do with last years dregs, splash out on some Lancôme’s new DNA Sôleil Guard Suncare.

San Tropez Summer Glow

July 3, 2008

San Tropez is a fab way to fake it!! Whether you are about to go on holiday and don’t want to look like the only albino on the beach, or you’re not getting a chance to go away this summer and don’t want to be put to shame by that friend that’s just come back from Cuba, San Tropez is a brilliant product to give you that summer tan you’re after.

I’ve done it myself before I’ve been away on holiday, to embarrassed to get my milk bottle legs out, I’ve opted for a San Tropez Spray tan at a saloon a couple of days before I went. At first I was pretty dubious, and admittedly I did look a bit of an odd colour for a couple of hours afterwards, but there are different levels of colour you can opt for and apparently it is meant to react with the pigments in your skin so that the tan looks natural rather than a ‘you’ve been tangoed’ look. I have to say it did look natural and I was pleased with the overall effect and there are lots of products to prolong the tan.

There are loads of San Tropez products if you fancy a DIY jobby! You can get: - Bronzer, Moisturiser, Spray mist and Self-tanning packages, prices range from £10 to £40 and a spray tan at saloon would usually cost you about £25.

John Lewis has a really good range of the products.

The magic of Vaseline

July 2, 2008

One of my favourite and most recommended beauty products has to be Vaseline. It is fantastic and simple but very effective. You can use it to cure chapped lips, soften your lips, smooth back your eyebrows, soothing dry skin, even dab a small bit on the end of your nose and it helps prevent hayfever …this list could go on and on!

I use Vaseline every day mainly to keep my lips soft, using this you will never have dry lips. I have used several lip balms and nothing has worked as well, even before I put lipgloss or lipstick on I apply Vaseline first as it will then glide onto your lips and last much longer.

It is cheap and you only need to use a little bit each time, Vaseline is available in most beauty shops and chemists. I have just bought a small pocket sized tin of Vaseline and it only cost 99p. You can also buy large tubs of Vaseline that will last you a life time.

I would recommend this product to everyone, it is 100% pure petroleum jelly, no additives or colourings so therefore suitable for boys, girls, men and women!

How to cover up blemishes

June 26, 2008

Everyone will most likely have a skin flare-up once in your life…..don’t panic, these can easily be concealed. There is a huge selection of good over-the-counter help and products to try.

It can be difficult to cover a blemish so firstly you need to make sure you get a good concealer that will stay put. I would recommend L’Oreal high coverage concealer as this is a thick concealer so covers the blemish really well to leave your complexion clear. Do not layer it on thick straight away, start with a small amount and gradually build. This has always worked a treat for me, if the blemishes do not go it would be best to go and see a dermatologist who will be able to provide you with some treatments to help prevent the condition.

Body Moisturiser

June 20, 2008

Summer skin isn’t any good if it dried out. Whatever time of year it is I always have to use Kiehl’s Crème de Corps. This is a cult product that Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, Britney Spearsr…. I think you are getting the picture can not live without. Its has been around for years and is fantastic for your skin.

Crème de Corps is a luxurious body moisturiser. This product stands out more than the other moisturisers out there as it does not contain water making it extremely rich and the smell is devine.

The cream does not leave your skin greasy and leaves you with a beautiful sheen., the bonus is that this product really helps get rid of stretch marks.

Not many people have heard of Kiehl’s as it is really exclusive, even though the bottle is not very glamorous, there is only one store and that is in New York. I know the price is a little over average for a moisturiser but who cares when it leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft.

Time to Relax!

June 11, 2008

Even though the weather is brightening up and you are most likely wanting to jump into a shower. I always find that the best way to relax is to have a bath with Radox Herbal Muscle Soak.

I always feel pretty relaxed having a bath anyway but adding this product definitely helped to relax me more. The smell is lovely and it suits both sexes.

So if you are in need of some relaxation i would definitely recommend this product!
