Realizing that this entry is tad on the stale side I thought you might want to read the following Wired article about the melanotan peptides that was published last year:

It covers the news that Clinuvel (formerly known as EpiTan) has been given the go ahead to conduct human trials of melanotan-1 (under its generic name of “afamelanotide”) in the United States.
