Hair Shine
July 10, 2008
I suffer from what the adverts call ‘flyaway hairs’, those little annoying hairs that just won’t stay down no matter how much you straighten them. So I thought i’d try the Charles Worthington’s ‘Really Shiny Gloss Spray’ which is meant to calm down those ‘flyaways’ and give great shine as well. Whilst it gave me really shiny hair and a sleek look it didn’t help the more stubborn of ‘flyaway hairs’. But it did smell really good and lots of people commented on how nice my hair smelt. At 4.99 it’s not bad but I did try to use it sparingly as I feared that if I went over board with it my hair would either look like i’d just come out of the shower or worse like I hadn’t washed it for a weeks! I reckon I’d give it a 5/10.
Check out the Charles Worthington website, www.cwlondon.com there are tons of products you can get.
Pretty Nails!
July 9, 2008
I’ve found a really great new nail polish. Check out the website www.essentialnails.com for the Cetuem Créme nail polish range. It applies well to your nails and goes on really smoothly with no streaking. Usually I mess my nail polish up the minute i’ve applied it but this dried quickly and didn’t chip straight away like some others i’ve tried before. There is a great range of colours and it even lasted on my toes! The price is pretty mid range at around £6 per bottle.
The website is great too, with a large range of nail polish, including metallic, hologram, shimmer, glitter effect and there are some great accessories too like the anti-spill nail polish holder.
Protection from the Sun!
July 8, 2008
Protecting your skin from the sun doesn’t often register high on your list of things to do in the summer when you live in Britain (it’s raining as I write this) but Lancôme’s new Sôleil DNA Guard Suncare is new for 2008 and won Grazia’s Best Ever Sun Protection for Body award.
From very high protection for mature skin, to incredible shine and velvety skin anti wrinkle products, you make up just about any sun care package to suit your needs. So this year before you go on your holls instead of buying boots own brand like you do every time or making do with last years dregs, splash out on some Lancôme’s new DNA Sôleil Guard Suncare.
Ways to make your eyelashes not clump up…
July 7, 2008
You need to begin your routine by giving your eyelashes some tlc. Add a generous amount of Vaseline to your eyelashes, this is known to increase the health of your lashes. Never go for a bargain mascara as they tend to contain fillers that are guaranteed to clump up your lashes at the first opportunity.
To avoid going out with clumpy mascara, you should use an eyelash curler before hand and lightly dust your lashes with powder this will help the mascara just glide onto your lashes leaving you with clump free, beautiful lashes.

John Frieda’s Brilliant Brunettes
July 4, 2008
I have to have a bit of a rave about John Frieda’s ‘Brilliant Brunette’ products. I have tried and tested these babies and they really do make your hair look good. I fancied a change from my usual shampoo and conditioner and thought I’d treat myself and splash out on some posh stuff. At about £6 a bottle (not too expensive!!), John Frieda’s ‘Brilliant Brunette’ range is especially designed to suit your hair colour. (But don’t worry all you Blondes and Red heads out there, there are special products for you too!! ‘Radiant Red’ and ‘Sheer Blonde’)
Now for the review bit! It made my hair feel really sleek and it looked really shiny and healthy, and it smelled good too. For the natural brunette it is fab, makes your hair look and feel like you’ve just had a top dye job done at the hairdressers. There are so many products you can get, Light reflecting/Lustrous touch/ Shine Release Volumizing and Moisturizing Shampoos and Conditioners, Smoothing milk, Hair glazes, Finishing cream and Hair spray , all designed especially for brunettes.
My personal favourite was the Shine Release Shampoo and Conditioner. 10 out of 10!

San Tropez Summer Glow
July 3, 2008
San Tropez is a fab way to fake it!! Whether you are about to go on holiday and don’t want to look like the only albino on the beach, or you’re not getting a chance to go away this summer and don’t want to be put to shame by that friend that’s just come back from Cuba, San Tropez is a brilliant product to give you that summer tan you’re after.
I’ve done it myself before I’ve been away on holiday, to embarrassed to get my milk bottle legs out, I’ve opted for a San Tropez Spray tan at a saloon a couple of days before I went. At first I was pretty dubious, and admittedly I did look a bit of an odd colour for a couple of hours afterwards, but there are different levels of colour you can opt for and apparently it is meant to react with the pigments in your skin so that the tan looks natural rather than a ‘you’ve been tangoed’ look. I have to say it did look natural and I was pleased with the overall effect and there are lots of products to prolong the tan.
There are loads of San Tropez products if you fancy a DIY jobby! You can get: - Bronzer, Moisturiser, Spray mist and Self-tanning packages, prices range from £10 to £40 and a spray tan at saloon would usually cost you about £25.
John Lewis has a really good range of the products.

The magic of Vaseline
July 2, 2008
One of my favourite and most recommended beauty products has to be Vaseline. It is fantastic and simple but very effective. You can use it to cure chapped lips, soften your lips, smooth back your eyebrows, soothing dry skin, even dab a small bit on the end of your nose and it helps prevent hayfever …this list could go on and on!
I use Vaseline every day mainly to keep my lips soft, using this you will never have dry lips. I have used several lip balms and nothing has worked as well, even before I put lipgloss or lipstick on I apply Vaseline first as it will then glide onto your lips and last much longer.
It is cheap and you only need to use a little bit each time, Vaseline is available in most beauty shops and chemists. I have just bought a small pocket sized tin of Vaseline and it only cost 99p. You can also buy large tubs of Vaseline that will last you a life time.
I would recommend this product to everyone, it is 100% pure petroleum jelly, no additives or colourings so therefore suitable for boys, girls, men and women!
