Beauty products to be wary of…

After doing some research I was pretty surprised to find out that some products that we use in our daily regime are actually not that good for you.

Some of the products that I have stated below can cause damage to your face and should not be used.

1.    Toners
Everyone seems to own a toner! In my regime I scrub my face with a deep cleansing wash and instantly spray toner on my face but I don’t know if I will be doing this anymore after finding out that most toners are made of alcohol, striping the natural oils and dries up your skin. This obviously then causes you skin to dehydrate and will make the appearance of fine lines more apparent. It also takes out the shine in your face and makes your skin look dull.

2.    Blackhead Strips
We all love to use a blackhead strip as a quick fix but DON’T! These “magic” strips actually have the potential of causing micro tears in your face and can break capillaries and blood vessels – not a good look!!!

3.    Face Masks
I love face masks! I find them relaxing and always put one on if I am having a pampering session. So I was not a happy girl when I found out that many of these scrubs contain large non spherical particles, some even have ingredients like apricot pits! In time your skin is bound to tear causing redness and broken blood vessels.

4.    Oil moisturisers
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! I always use an oil moisturiser, every morning and evening! But it is not the best idea to use one as they can cause acne as they are full of mineral oils. In future I will be looking for creams with hydrating non-oil ingredients.

Why use an organic beauty product instead of a conventional one?

Because of superior purity, quality and effectiveness!

Everyone has there own opinion and some people don’t care if the item they are using on there face is organic or been tested on animals.

In the ideal world all beauty products should by natural beauty products.

I have noticed that most organic products seem to be more expensive so that is why I believe people tend to shy away from them. There are many reasons why you should use them:

1. You are what you eat and the same with beauty products whatever you put on your body ends up in your body so why would you want to put chemicals, pesticides, synthetics and other modified ingredients into your body??? I prefer not!
2. If you care about animals you should only go for organic products as these products come from natural ingredients not a lab that has been tested on animals.
3. The main reason is product effectiveness. Natural products are more effective than waxes, fillers and chemicals.

Organic products are available in skincare, hair care and cosmetics and leave your skin vibrant and beautiful and I noticed that after using them I had a naturally healthy glow. The smell was just as scrumptious if not more than my usual non-organic products.

I am a bugger for reading a label I usually can not be bothered but I am going to be aware now and read exactly what I am putting into my skin.

Celebs without make-up…..what do you think???

We are used to seeing celeb’s looking fabulous and making us envious of there stunning, perfection look but when they are snapped off guard it makes us feel a little better that they are really like us.

I have found a few pics of some celebs who are usually beautiful looking average minus there make-up and I must say it does make you feel a little better in yourself!

Beyonce is usually one of the best groomed celeb’s and shines at public appearances.  But what do you make of her day to day look? Do you think she looks better without all her makeup and accessories?

Jennifer Lopez is the ultimate diva on the red carpet but it is not all down to natural beauty as the pictures show she just has a very good stylist and makeup artist and owes them a big thank you! Do you think she is hot or not?

Kim Kardashian is hard to recognise without her trademake eyelashes and red lipstick. I still think she is a natural beauty though and does not look bad without make-up. Very jealous!!!

How to create the Punk beauty

Autumn’s hottest new beauty trend is Punk beauty. The catwalks have been sporting this look with a touch of metallic, heavy black lashes, ruby stained lips and black nails.

I think this look is cool and looks really different! The thing with punk is that you can make a real statement with your makeup. People see Punk as rebellious but is now a statement about fashion.

See below on how to create this look to perfection:

Firstly you have to look for a palette that allows you to get creative. Metallic colours are fab and you need to go for liquid and crème formulations. I would highly recommend M.A.C products as they have loads of combinations.

You need to keep your foundation flawless and pale. Next you need to sculpt your cheekbones. The key to this look is a matte base softened with rosy blush like. Use a crème blusher this will accentuate your cheekbones.

With the punk look it is all about the eyes. Think bold and dramatic! Use black eyeliner to draw attention to your eyes with a thick eyeliner on the bottom lid of your eye and above your lash line and add metallic, smoky eyeshadow right up to your brow line. To finish the look add plenty of black mascara or even better add some fake thick, black fake eyelashes.

For added edge, finish this look with a slick of clear Lipgloss on your lips and paint your nails black or dark blue.

All you need now is some cool clothes and a rock chic has been created!!!

Will you wear bird crap on your face for beauty???

Victoria Beckham’s “dirty” beauty secret is out! It has emerged that the style queen who suffers from skin problems and acne as a teenager puts her new clear complexion down to bird poo.

A source told Britain’s Closer magazine: “When Victoria was in Japan recently she was admiring the local women’s clear skin and discovered it was down to these facials.

“She was intrigued and when she got back to the US she found that some New York beauty salons now offer the treatment.

“She tried it and loved how great her skin looked. She also uses a cream derived from nightingale poo at home.”

These Geisha facials do not come cheap at £100 per session! At the moment you can get the facials in Japan and US but i am sure it will be in the UK very soon. It is made from a paste of nightingale droppings, ewwwwwwwwww! The facial helps combat acne and general blemishes on the skin.

Supposedly, Geisha in Japan would use the droppings to remove the heavy white make up they wear and add some rice brain to neutralise the smell…nice sounds more appealing now 

I do have to say that Victoria’s skin does seem to look much clearer, so maybe there is something in it after all…

Feel beautiful with a touch of bling

We all have those days where nothing seems to go right! You might be suffering from a bad hair day, a huge spot pops up overnight or you’re having a “fat day”.

You think that nothing can put a smile back on your face but that’s where your wrong. When I have these days I find that by adding jewellery it instantly makes me feel beautiful and glamorous and puts that extra bounce in my step on my gloomy day.

I tend to go for costume jewellery as it is statement jewellery and makes you look and feel fab. You will instantly feel better about your appearance.

There is many ways to wear jewellery to make you feel beautiful:

Business suits – wear a bracelet
Vest – beads
LBD – ring, earrings and bangles

My motto is ‘If you feel good about the way you look, you will feel better about the day ahead’

Jewellery is designed to be an accessory so take advantage of this by letting it complement your lifestyle. It is good to treat yourself every now and again and with jewellery you can wear it over and over again.

New use for an Eye Gel

The Body Shop Elderflower Eye Gel is a fairly cheap beauty product at only £5.50 and after reading reviews it seems like it may be a good eye gel to use!

It cools and soothes puffiness around the eyes and with the help of glycerine it softens and moisturises the area around the eye giving it a lifted feel. The elderflower extract helps to revitalise the skin and it also contains witch hazel which helps to refresh the skin.

This is not a new product but the reason this came to my attention was after reading Grazia magazine where I saw an article called ’50 New Backstage Beauty Heroes’. The Body Shop Eye Gel starred as the first product, it has been reported that runway choreographer Lee Lapthorne told models at the Allegra Hicks fashion show to use this eye gel on their feet to keep them soft, cool and free from the pain of high heels.

I am yet to try this out but reckon it could be a pretty good remedy to sore feet on a night out, but it may be quite slippery seeing as it is actually moisturiser!! If you try it out let me know how it goes, and if you actually use it for your eyes let me know what it’s like too!!

Prepare for a date with Mr Perfect!

It used to be hard work trying to find a date but now it couldn’t be easier thanks to UK Dating. So girls you have no excuse not to go out and get wined and dined and look your best! One of my friends in particular is a huge fan of this and has so much fun and it is more fun for us helping her get glammed up!

Getting dolled up for a romantic night on the town with a cute date can be extremely daunting and nerve racking! It can easily lead to a migraine or worse hair tearing madness!

Before I go on a date the best part of getting ready has to be the shower, give your skin a good exfoliate and scrub and smoother yourself in moisturiser and as soon as you get out apply perfume to your pulse points. Then it’s time to give yourself a mini facial, wash, tone and moisturise your face.

The tough is now to come the make-up – one main rule you have to keep it feminine and flirty – the perfect mix of sweet and sexy! The best thing to do is entice him with your eyes, lots of eyeshadow, choose a colour that flatters you skin tone – you can never go wrong with a warm brown , and add black eyeliner this will make your eyes stand out a mile and LOTS of mascara . The rest of your makeup must be simply irresistible only add a small amount of foundation and a soft shade of blusher for your cheeks. Add shine to your lips and keep them neutral so they look good enough to kiss.

Now all you need is a fab outfit some killer heels and hey presto your done!
